I am a creative and analytical professional who applies dynamic solutions into the workplace. I am a hard worker who strives to be highly organized, a team player and adept learner. I have a diverse background in my job and educational experiences. After graduating from Needham Broughton High School in 2002, I attended Montana State University in Bozeman for one year before transferring to Belmont University in Nashville Tennessee. Belmont University is a premier institution for music and Entertainment Industry Studies and Music Business. They also are renown for a range of science and liberal arts intensive studies. At Belmont I immersed myself in the academic culture, participating in on campus clubs such as 'The Motivational Organization of Belmont,' Grammy U and volunteer work at the Nashville Humane Association and FRIST Center for the Arts. I majored in Audio Video Production and Music Business. A Music Business curriculum is a traditional business degree, with fundamentals in macro and microeconomics, management, marketing, publicity, etc...while also instructing students on business specialization in the entertainment industry including, but not limited to: intellectual property law, publishing rights, road and tour management, financing and more.
Upon leaving Belmont in 2009, I moved out west to Montana, where I worked as the volunteer Music Chair for the Sweet Pea Festival of the Arts. I also started my own business, Firehole Productions. As Owner and Lead Booking Agent for Firehole Productions I was tasked with managing, producing, marketing eight internationally touring bands. I coordinated their tour schedules, advancing and craft services, negotiated contracts and booked radio and other promotional events.
In April 2014 I moved back home to Raleigh NC, to transition careers. My goal is to become a teacher. I am creative and have a lifelong passion for learning. I have expertise in History (World, European, British History and US History). I am a novelist and blogger with an appreciation of all literature. I enjoy exploring themes, creative and expository writing, editing and syntax. I am in the process of taking the Praxis II exams to be certified in English and Comprehensive Social Studies. My background in Business provides me with the education and professional background to teach Economics and other business courses. I hope in the future to pursue a Master's degree.
In my free time, I enjoy writing, studying and visiting historical places. I love our National Parks and live to hike and camp in the summer. I worked at Yellowstone National Park.
